This good habit reduces hunger and does not make us fat

by admin

Nervous hunger is a problem that afflicts many people, especially in times of high stress and busy schedules. The hectic everyday life, the grueling work, the housework and so on and so forth, certainly don’t help. It is not easy to distinguish the so-called true hunger from the nervous one and that is why in a previous article we gave some suggestions about it. But how do we avoid the sudden urge to tear anything, even if we have just finished eating?

Some help

There are various remedies not only to recognize nervous hunger, but also to avoid it. One of these is drinking lots of water, which is accompanied by the need for constant physical activity and regular nutrition. Eating seated, moreover, dedicating those few minutes to a meal and nothing else, is an excellent strategy to “deceive” our brain. Chewing is also important and that is why we should try to chew each bite for a long time.

There is, however, another remedy that goes to the bottom of the problem and tries to solve it right at the root. We talked about stress and therefore an altered state of mind that leads us to gulp down everything edible around. Let’s see how to find a solution that is as effective as possible.

The solution we propose is to sleep more. Several studies, including one recently conducted by the University of Cologne, demonstrate the close link between hunger and lack of sleep.

We now know that getting enough sleep is the basis of our well-being and the proper performance of vital functions, including the regulation of appetite. When we rest little and feel without energy, our body looks for an alternative source from which to find strength. Here, then, that this alternative source is food, even if we finished the meal a short time before. On the other hand, eating a lot and compulsively inevitably leads us to put on a lot of weight. This is why this good habit reduces hunger and does not make us fat: sleep is essential for the health of the body and especially of the mind.
