To say the results of a study published in the famous Journal of the American Medical Association (Jama), which involved 2,560 health workers from 8 Humanitas hospitals in Lombardy and Piedmont, before and after the arrival of anti-Covid vaccines.
Long Covid is defined as the persistence of at least one symptom of SARS-CoV 2 infection for more than 4 weeks. The aim of the study was to identify the protection of the vaccine against this condition in subjects positive for the virus. In this sense, the hospital population was found to be ‘ideal’ because it was vaccinated, subjected to research tests for Sars-CoV-2 every two weeks and to serological tests, which also made it possible to identify asymptomatic patients.
