“Three Italian aid workers stopped in Tunisia”

by admin

The Farnesina has announced that three Italian aid workers, engaged in cooperation activities for the Cesvi OSC in Tunisia, have been placed in custody in recent days, together with another member of the Cesvi staff, for alleged irregularities linked to withdrawals of money from a local bank.

The three collaborators operate on some projects in Libya, a country whose banking system maintains a series of limitations which make it necessary for those who operate there and need currency to periodically withdraw money in Tunisia. Since the beginning of the matter, the embassy in Tunis, in close coordination with the Farnesina, has ensured assistance to its compatriots and is in constant contact with Cesvi, which is providing all the necessary information to the investigating authorities to allow a rapid clarification and arrive at a quick release of all those involved.
