The 2024 MIR (Medical Intern Resident) specialties selection process is well underway, with an increasing number of specialties already filled to capacity. As of the seventh day of the process, a total of 25 specialties have exhausted all available spots, including four specialties that recently reached their quotas.

Among the specialties that are now closed to new applicants are Anesthesiology, Angiology, Digestive System, Cardiology, and Cardiovascular Surgery. Also included in the list are General Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthopedic and Traumatological Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, and Plastic Surgery. Other specialties that have reached their limits include Thoracic Surgery, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Hematology, Legal and Forensic Medicine, Neurosurgery, Neurology, and Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The remaining specialties that have filled their spots are Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Pediatrics, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Radiodiagnosis, Rheumatology, and Urology. With the high demand for positions in these specialties, aspiring medical professionals are encouraged to consider alternative options or wait for future selection processes.
