Training, a guarantee fund for those aiming at information technology

by admin

Allowing anyone, especially the youngest and those who cannot offer guarantees, to access credit to invest in their training and build a new profession in the information technology field: this is the intent of the partnership established by aulab, an active innovative Italian SME in edutech and software development, with PerMicro, Italian microcredit operator and Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation. The initiative could help fill the chronic shortage of figures in Italian companies.

While, on the one hand, the OECD shows a youth unemployment rate for Italy that is increasing from 28.7% pre-pandemic to 33.8% in January 2021, on the other, the Observatory of Digital Skills estimates that in Italy there over 100,000 people are required in the tech field. Companies are constantly looking for IT personnel to accelerate the digital transformation process, but there are not enough resources available in the market.

The project aims to facilitate access to tech training and is aimed at people interested in participating in the Hackademy course who do not have the opportunity to bear the enrollment cost and generally have difficulty in obtaining loans as they cannot offer particular guarantees.

The course, which allows anyone to acquire the skills necessary to start a career as a web developer in 3 months, aims to bridge the gap between those looking for a job and the ever-increasing demand for professionals in the digital market which, according to Anitec-Assinform estimates, could reach 95 billion euros in 2024.

This initiative is possible thanks to a credit disbursed by PerMicro and the support of the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation which participates in the creation of a restricted guarantee fund, as well as carrying out monitoring and evaluation activities to analyze the results of the project.
