Trees, new furnishings and fitness area The restyling of Chiesanuova – Cronaca starts

After a collection of signatures with 350 subscriptions and some episodes of petty crime between drug dealing and the presence of a gang of children who have come to set fire to tables and gazebos, work begins for the redevelopment of the gardens in via del Campaccio and via dei Gobbi in Chiesanuova. The project has been known and expected for some time and is part of the financing on ‘Urban Places’, which will guarantee Prato an investment of 1.8 million, of which 80% guaranteed by European funds. Thanks to the works, in via del Campaccio the subdivision of the walking areas based on the size of the dogs will be experimented, with the current area for four-legged friends that will be doubled. And then new pedestrian paths, benches, street furniture, games for children and plantings. The section between via Wangen and via del Gobbi instead will be used as a fitness area. A wooded car park with over 30 parking spaces will also be built on the latter road, responding to the need for parking in this portion of the neighborhood. This double intervention requires an investment of 738,000 euros, of which 554,000,000 euros from Europe and 184,000 euros from the municipality. The works of the area in via dei Gobbi should be completed by November, while the complete redevelopment will be delivered to the citizens by the end of spring 2023. “We are facing a real urban forestation and redevelopment of public green areas that go to affect a very important area of ​​the city “, comments the councilor for public works Valerio Barberis. “With these interventions we aim both to physically build green spaces, as in the case of the Piu at Macrolotto Zero, and to redevelop areas such as San Paolo and Chiesanuova, in order to create new green areas that encourage citizens to frequent them, also doing activities at the open in the logic of promoting healthy lifestyles “. Overall, the ‘Urban Places’ plan provides for the redevelopment of three lots in the San Paolo area. In addition to via del Campaccio – via dei Gobbi we find the redevelopment of the garden in via Vivaldi, with the inclusion of furnishings, games, flooring, maintenance of the existing trees and new plantings, then the pruning area of ​​via Zandonai and the complete reinterpretation of the garden of via dell’Alberaccio. Work on the first two lots started at the beginning of the year and will see completion by the end of autumn. “The overall intervention aims to redevelop public spaces”, concludes the councilor for the curated city Cristina Sanzò. “We are going to intervene by inserting new seats or areas for walking. The intent of the municipal administration is precisely to rethink the use of spaces, offering new green spots that become places of aggregation”.
