Outdoor sports for everyone, in two new playgrounds. Rome increasingly confirms itself as the capital of sport.
After Colle Oppio in the shadow of the Colosseum and Villa Borghese and its riding track, there are two other “iconic” spaces.

The new playgrounds, free to use and with a modern face, will be hosted in an area on the Tiber embankment and in the heart of the historic center of the capital.
Sport and Health will carry out the two interventions, thus confirming the commitment shared with the Mayor of Rome Capital Roberto Gualtieri and with the Councilor for Sport, Alessandro Onorato, to improve the sporting offer throughout the capital.

The creation of the playgrounds is foreseen by a memorandum of understanding signed today between the President of the Municipality of Rome I Center, Lorenza Bonaccorsi, and the President of Sport and Health, Marco Mezzaroma, in the presence of the CEO of the State company for the promotion of sport, Diego Nepi Molineris.

“With the signing of this protocol – has explained Marco Mezzaroma our action continues in the different realities of our country. In Rome, specifically, our interventions have already allowed the transformation of the Piazza di Siena area and the riding track of Villa Borghese, but also the creation of the Colle Oppio playground as well as the creation of four other facilities throughout the city. This protocol confirms our company’s commitment to making the skills developed both on the topic of plant engineering and on that of the shared promotion of initiatives and projects for the diffusion of sporting practice and its social value available to local and regional administrations.” .

“Thanks to the protocol signed today – he said instead Lorenza Bonaccorsiwe continue to invest in the area, convinced of the need to bring citizens ever closer to sport, creating opportunities for sociality and inclusion within our neighborhoods. I thank Sport e Salute, with which it has already been possible to rethink some places in the city and create sporting, social and aggregation centers where physical activity can be carried out and initiatives promoted. After the regeneration of the Colle Oppio spaces, which have become a symbol throughout the world, new playgrounds will arrive in our Town Hall which, thanks to today’s agreement, will be built over the next few months. They will be modern and free structures, at the service of citizens, young people and school communities, to help raise healthier and more aware citizens”.
