Vaccines, 4 million to involve general practitioners

MILANO – Greater involvement of general practitioners in influenza and anti-Covid vaccination campaigns thanks to an allocation of over 4 million euros. This is foreseen by the resolution approved by the Council of the Lombardy Region on the proposal of the vice president and councilor for Welfare, Letizia Moratti, which contains the pre-agreement on the regional supplementary agreement for general medicine for the year 2021. “The document – explains Moratti – integrates the pre-agreement on participation in the anti-Covid vaccination campaign, approved at the end of January. The agreement aims at the full involvement of family doctors in the implementation of the vaccination campaigns in progress”.

“A contribution, that of family doctors – concludes Moratti – which we believe essential not only to face the last mile of the pandemic emergency, but also to make us be ready for the arrival of flu and to avoid its repercussions on the population, especially the elderly or frail “. The agreement aims, in particular, to incentivize MMGs to participate in the anti-Covid vaccination campaign, as well as the flu one. The allocation of 4,161,057 euros will make it possible to find new medical and nursing staff so as to extend the hours of the clinics. Finally, the agreement confirms the incentives of previous years, intended for the recognition of new forms of association and new study staff.
