Nine out of ten from Emilia-Romagna who received at least one dose of the vaccine, 86% who already have completed the vaccination cycle and over 120,000 people who were given one additional dose.
The Emilia-Romagna vaccination machine continues its work with the third doses, as indicated by the national commissioner, and their number is destined to rise again. Today, in fact, theDepartment of Health Policies transmitted officially to health companies the indication to proceed with the third doses for all over 60, without distinction, organizing booking methods and times. Green light from the Region also to the third one also for all healthcare personnel, also in this case without distinction of age of activity.
The criterion of a wait for at least 6 months after administration of the second dose and priority to those who have completed the vaccination cycle for the longest time.
“In Emilia-Romagna the vaccination system has never stopped – says the councilor for health policies, Raffale Donini-, and while the persuasion activity continues on the undecided, with communication and awareness on the one hand and the facilitation of access to the vaccine on the other, we have also already administered over 120 thousand third doses to the people most at risk, guaranteeing them the necessary coverage. The pandemic is still there, thanks to vaccines and prevention and safety measures we are keeping hospitals and health facilities sheltered, even in the presence of an increase in infections: to continue doing it, those who still have to get vaccinated must do it and we respect everyone the rules”.
The Region has therefore authorized health companies to vaccinate over 60s with the additional dose. More generally, depending on the organizational methods chosen by the health companies, reservations will go from using the electronic health record or gods Cup services, all’direct access without reservation, while for specific categories there is a direct call from ASL via sms.
The Region has asked the health authorities to guarantee at least four courses in parallel administration: the vaccination hubs, i general practitioners, the pharmacy who have signed up to the signed agreement a September with trade associations (the list of which is available at https://salute.regione.emilia-romagna.it/vaccinazioni-anti-covid-in-farmacia/farmacie-aderenti) and finally the company surveillance services, exclusively for the operators of the regional health service

Third doses, the numbers
In total, at 13 today were administered 119,080 third doses in Emilia-Romagna: if you look at the age groups, the largest number concerns the over 80 (86,051), then the 60-69 year olds (8,848) and then the 70-79 year olds (7,920). To receive it also 7,358 people between 50 and 59 years, 4,658 between 40-49, 2,618 in the 30-39 range and finally 1,627 under 30.
Before the indications of today, the healthcare personnel, with priority for the over 60s and professionals most at risk due to exposure or pathologies, the over 80 e i fragile subjects of category 1 (from cancer patients to multiple sclerosis patients to those suffering from advanced heart failure) were the last categories, in chronological order, that had been given access to the third dose. The first to receive it were the transplanted and immunocompromised people, scheduled from 20 September, and to follow the over eighty they guests and operators of facilities for the elderly, which started in the first half of October the inoculations.
Co-administration with the flu vaccine
The circular that the Region has sent today to health companies reaffirms the possibility of administer simultaneously the Covid vaccine and other vaccines, starting with that flu shot.
For this purpose, the Department recommends the Local Health Authorities to guarantee the availability in vaccination hubs doses of the flu vaccine, also differentiated by the indications of use according to age: the citizen will be able to express directly at the time of administration the willingness to be subjected to both vaccinations, if obviously he is entitled to one.
