Vaccines: over 6 million Italians have no coverage against Covid – Health

by admin

There are over 6 million Italians who have no coverage against Covid. This is what emerges from the government report on vaccines, updated this morning, according to which to date there are 6,103,160 people who have not taken the first dose.

In absolute terms, the highest number of unvaccinated is between 40-49 years (1,289,003) and in that 50-59 years (1,097,620); as a percentage, however, it is between 12-19 year olds that there is the largest slice: 20.90%, which corresponds to 967,264 people out of an audience of 4,627,514.

“We are still in a difficult phase, this new wave of Covid is affecting Europe very significantly and also in Italy there is an objective growth in new infections, even if we are still one of the countries with a better epidemiological picture, and this thanks to the vaccination campaign which is the primary lever. We must have faith in science “. This was stated by the health minister, Roberto Speranza, speaking at the National Assembly of the National Confederation of crafts and small and medium-sized enterprises (Cna), recalling that yesterday the threshold of 100 million doses administered was exceeded.

“This morning 88% of people over 12 vaccinated with the first dose and 85% who completed the vaccination cycle have been exceeded, and the first doses are increasing in the last few days: we must insist, convincing even the uncertain and calling people to the third doses, for which we have exceeded 10 million reminders “, he added Hope, noting that “it is the first point to invest in; then there is a second lever: precautionary measures and masks. If we insist on vaccines and behavior we can try to manage this very serious and consistent wave”.
