VALSUSA, GREEN PASS TO GO TO THE GYM? “PENALIZED AGAIN”

SUSA – From 6 August restaurants and gyms will be populated only by those who have the green pass, that is the famous green documentation certifying that they have received at least one dose of vaccine against Covid-19. A decision that has sparked the protests of many, curiously also of those who, in recent weeks, had decided to join the vaccination campaign.

ValsusaOggi decided to take “a picture” of the current situation, a few days after the green pass entered our lives, asking for a comment from Fabio Dolce, owner of the Evolution Gym in Susa, who, like many other activities in Italy, had used the red zone to completely redo the structure. After a period of recovery, the green pass could again limit the income of your business.

“There are some points that don’t make much sense – he explains – We have been sanitizing, organizing and limiting for two years. The gym, like other activities, is a place where it is possible to limit access and control who enters: from the temperature to the time. It almost seems that there is someone in charge who has no idea what happens in a gym, there are many high-risk places such as beaches and bathing establishments, for example. This green pass story limits people and offloads responsibility to business owners. It must be taken into account that we have most of the people with active subscriptions for 2 years and who are still catching up with the previous one. Of these, many will now suspend their subscription again because perhaps they do not want to vaccinate, and we carry out subscriptions indefinitely, while instead the expenses do not stop. Even the Municipality of Susa has sent the taxes for the waste for the entire period of closure ”.

“What about the instructors? – Fabio Dolce wonders – It’s an impediment. Without the vaccine, I can’t get the instructors to work, so it means that fathers and mothers of families will stay at home. I wonder if the government has thought about the subscriptions of those who do not want to vaccinate, who pays them? Since we saw only a small part of the supports in October 2020. What is the solution? To keep the subscriptions going without giving the possibility to block them for those who do not want to vaccinate? Should I get into arguing with people? Ours, like many others, is a public place and I have no power to prevent people from being able to use it. People might very well say to me “since you don’t let me in, I’ll refund the season ticket I paid for”. I believe that the green pass is not the best method, also because it is either extended to everyone or it makes no sense to limit it to activities that are frequented by a low percentage of the population. Gyms are certainly not the most popular places. Among other things, since the beginning of the pandemic, no users have tested positive ”.
