Covid has brought a wave of pandemic discomfortThe coronavirus, it is now well known, it causes not only health problems (physical), but also to the mind, eroding deeply the well-being of people and provoking a pandemic wave of psychological distress which is then often declined in depression, anxiety, really self-harm, particularly affecting the women e i Young people, but not even sparing i children.

The first world estimates on this issue, as also reported by the agency Ansa, report of 53 million more cases from major depression (+28%) e 76 million more cases from anxiety disorders (+ 26%) in 2020, directly linked to the pandemic.
This is the sad balance that emerged on the occasion of the World Mental Health Day. The data is impressive: nearly one billion people live with a mental disorder in poor countries and over 75% of people do not receive any assistance. Over a million people every year dies for substance abuse and in conjunction with COVID the picture could even be worsened: in fact, one in 4 young people aged 18/24 (25%) said they increased the use of substances to cope with coronavirus stress. Every 40 seconds a person takes his own life e suicides increased in 2020: for example, in Japan, from June to October 2020, grew by 16%, compared to the same period in 2019.

Another study published in the journal The Lancet Regional Health pointed out that rates of depression have more than tripled in one year pandemic and symptoms worsened: 32.8% of adults in the US reported severe depressive symptoms in March-April 2021; they were 27.8% in the very first months of the pandemic (March-April 2020), and 8.5% before the pandemic.
Not even the children were spared: second Save the Children, 83% of children around the world feel an increase in negative feelings and among minors levels of depression are on the rise, anxiety, loneliness e self-harm.
