The meat of which we will analyze the extraordinary properties is the very common goat meat. We can easily find it in any supermarket or at the trusted butcher, and we should probably start adding it to the diet.
Goat meat is very lean. 100 grams provide about 109 calories.
But it is not only the low lipid profile that makes this food extraordinary. There are large amounts of iron, zinc and potassium in goat meat. The first is essential for tissue oxygenation. The second guarantees the balanced growth of the organism. The third is an excellent ally of the brain and the cardiovascular system.
The intake of vitamins should not be underestimated. Goat contains vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B3 and folic acid.
How to cook it
Goat meat is particularly popular in the kitchen for its versatility. We can eat it roast or prepare a very tasty stew. Or we can simply bake it on a bed of potatoes.
Alternatively, we can take advantage of the leanness of this meat for sauces and ragu that are decidedly lighter than those we are used to.
If we love local traditions, our advice is to try the famous neretese goat. It is a typical recipe from Abruzzo and is very easy to prepare. We just need to cook the goat in a sauce based on onion, oil and cloves. Halfway through cooking we will also add some cherry tomatoes and once ready we will have to season it with previously fried “goat horn” peppers.
