The reaction of the doctors of the “Medinfior” Integrated Group Medicine of San Fior was not long in coming after the decision of Ulss 2 Marca Trevigiana to terminate the exercise contract, relating to this reality, starting from 1 August 2021 for ” very serious breaches “(here the article).
From that date, in fact, the doctors making up the “Medinfior” Integrated Group Medicine will operate as individual doctors but the same doctors have highlighted that there will be enormous inconvenience for patients because it will not be easy to reorganize the clinics with so little time available.
The doctor intervened on the matter Elizabeth Drusian, general practitioner in service in the Sanfiorese structure and regional press officer of the Snami (Italian Autonomous National Union of Italian Doctors) Veneto.
“What happened is, to say the least, disconcerting for the modalities – said Dr. Drusian -. We doctors of the Integrated Group Medicine of San Fior have given a mandate to a law firm to be protected. Before terminating the contract, we believe Ulss 2 should have called the doctors and mayors of the communities involved to inform us about the decision. How can we organize ourselves in such a short time to receive patients? And where?”.
Confusion and uncertainty dominate at this stage because the San Fior general practitioners do not know where to go from next August 1st.
“There will be a myriad of inconveniences for patients and there are those of us who are thinking of resigning – he adds -. This would also be a problem because general practitioners have 300 patients over the limit, which they will give up from 1 August 2021 and who could remain without assistance. It does not end in these ways and with reasons yet to be verified”.
For about a year this issue has been the main concern of the mayor of San Fior, Joseph Maset, which on more than one occasion received exasperated citizens and asked for a meeting with those directly concerned.
“Since August 2020, together with the mayors of Godega di Sant’Urbano and Orsago, I have asked for a meeting with the doctors – says Maset -. I do not want any controversy because we are not talking about the interruption of a water supply but about family doctors and the termination of an operating contract concerning a structure that takes care of the health of citizens. The approach and the attitudes were wrong”.
“I am worried because these decisions must be well planned – concludes the mayor of San Fior -. The citizens then come to me and I think I have always been interested even though the decisions did not depend on myself. After all the criticisms complained, obviously we couldn’t go on like this but the story has been going on for a long time. Tomorrow, together with my fellow mayors, I will meet the representatives of the Ulss 2 to understand what the developments of this affair which represents the main problem of my community will be ”.
Ulss 2 Marca Trevigiana explained that the termination of the exercise contract of Integrated Group Medicine will not lead to any negative impact for patients.
In order to ensure continuity of reference to patients, the health company has offered doctors the opportunity to stay in their current headquarters in San Fior, in via Mel 13.
Ulss 2 itself will provide ample evidence of the hours of activity, telephone numbers and methods of receiving patients (free access or by appointment) starting from 1 August 2021, already requested from individual doctors, as soon as received..
