The pictures in your article intended to portray chestnuts, are actually conkers, also known as buckeye or horse chestnuts. They are not actual chestnuts, they belong to an entirely different family of tree and nut. They are also highly toxic to humans and most domesticated animals even when cooked or roasted. They can cause severe gastrointestinal problems such as violent vomiting and diarrhea, followed by paralysis.
Most people would probably be loathe to eat them because they’re bitter even after cooking, but it might not be a bad idea to change the photo to actual chestnuts to avoid potentially fatal confusion. Actual chestnuts have a spiny husk that almost looks like a hedgehog, and the nuts inside have a papery tapered tip. It won’t be too hard to find an accurate photo.
