Shoe smell is something that almost everyone has experienced. If you notice a bad smell in your shoes and therefore on your feet, you should take care of it immediately.

Remove the smell of sweat from shoes – washing machine

Wash your shoes if they are washable. For footwear that cannot be washed in a regular washing machine, you can use a leather or fabric cleaner. If your shoes are machine safe, you can either machine wash or hand wash them.

First remove the insoles and shoelaces. Then wash the footwear on a gentle cycle after putting it in a laundry net. To dry your footwear, you can either place it in the sun or next to a heater. In this way, the development of odor-causing microorganisms can be prevented. Make sure the shoes are completely dry before putting them back together and wearing them. Most fabric athletic shoes can be machine washed or hand washed.

Smell from footwear in the freezer compartment

Seal the musty shoes in a large plastic bag and place them in the freezer overnight. After a day in the freezer, take them out and let them air dry. You no longer have to worry about your footwear smelling bad because the freezing temperature kills all bacteria.

Shoes stink extremely – use vinegar

Dampen a paper or towel with white vinegar and then apply it to the inside of your footwear. Because it breaks down the chemicals that cause the disgusting smell, vinegar is a wonderful all-round remedy. But don’t worry, a small excess can be easily absorbed by crumpling up some newspaper and putting it in your shoes. Wait for the vinegar to dry completely before putting the footwear back on.

Baking soda for smelly shoes

The uses for baking soda are virtually endless. Baking soda is a wonderful substance with multiple uses, including cleaning, deodorizing footwear, and in the kitchen. Because of its deodorizing properties, baking soda (or baking soda) is an ideal way to remove unpleasant odors from footwear and feet. Put a little baking soda in your shoes and leave it overnight to get rid of the bad smell. Simply shake out the baking soda the next morning and you’ll be good to go again. If your footwear always smells musty, try this DIY odor absorber once a week.

Another option for eliminating odors is this homemade deodorant powder.

You need:

3 tablespoons baking powder 1 tablespoon cornstarch 5 drops tea tree oil

Stir the ingredients together until well blended. Simply sprinkle the powder into your sneakers and leave them like that overnight to eliminate any remaining smell. The next day, shake off the remaining powder and your shoes will smell good again.

Use black tea

The tannins in black tea help reduce odor by killing the bacteria that grow in your footwear. Because of their high absorption rate, tea bags are ideal for this purpose. To make a natural shoe deodorizer, simply add an unused tea bag to each pair. Place them in a dry place and leave them for 24 hours.
