Microsoft announced today that Windows 11, a new generation of Windows system, will be officially launched today, and Windows 10 PCs that meet the upgrade requirements will be able to upgrade to Windows 11 for free.
Microsoft Chief Product Officer Panos Panay said that Windows 11 will provide players with a better Windows PC gaming experience. If the player’s PC is equipped with an HDR monitor, the Auto HDR function will automatically upgrade more than 1,000 DirectX 11 and DirectX 12 games from the standard dynamic range. To high dynamic range, no additional adjustments by developers are required. This feature supports the game to be presented in a wider range of colors and brightness, allowing players to fully utilize the functions of the display and have a brand-new gaming experience.
In addition, Windows 11 also supports DirectStorage. When used with NVMe SSD and DirectX 12 GPU, DirectStorage can shorten game loading time and bring more detailed and broader game screens.
