“2021 will involve the rationalization of consumer spending, with particular attention to purchases, but our mission remains the same: to make technology accessible to all,” says Paolo Bagnoli, Head of Marketing at Samsung Mobile. And so today the Korean company, first in the ranking of the best-selling producers in Italy, renews its mid-range offer. Three new smartphones of the Galaxy A family arrive: A52, A52 5G and A72. It thus brings to its cheapest (and best-selling) devices some of the innovations experienced on the high-end Galaxy S. “For example, video recording in 4K: there are mid-range devices that don’t have it,” explains Bagnoli. Improves the photographic sector, such as displays, with higher refresh rates, but not only: “There is an intelligent battery and 5G compatibility, which if today is not yet a common need, it will certainly be tomorrow, so who buys a device from the new Serie A knows it won’t become obsolete anytime soon ”.
A52 e A52 5G
The entry model of the new family is the A52, which doubles and is also available in a 5G version. Samsung has equipped both models with a 6.5 ”AMOLED screen, but changes the refresh rate, which is 90Hz on the LTE model and 120Hz on the 5G model. The chipsets are also different: on the base model we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G, while on the 5G version of the A52 Samsung has implemented the 750G, which integrates the modem necessary for new generation connections. On the other hand, the photographic sector is identical: there are a 64MP main sensor with optical stabilization, a 12MP ultra-wide angle camera, a 5MP Macro camera for close-up photos and a depth sensor, also from 5MP, which serves to improve the blur of the portraits. Overall it’s a versatile package, perfect for this type of device, even if it lacks a zoom lens (there is only digital magnification up to 10X, “but not everyone needs a 100X zoom like on the S21 Ultra. “, Emphasizes Bagnoli).
A72
The A72 is the top model of the trio presented today by Samsung (although due to its characteristics, the A52 5G is a candidate to be the real best seller). The processor is the same as the A52, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G without 5G modem, but compared to the other two models, the AMOLED screen reaches 6.7 ”wide, again with 90Hz refresh. On the back, the photographic equipment changes: the three main sensors are the same as the A52 and A52 5G models, but instead of the 5MP depth sensor here we find an 8MP 3X telephoto lens with optical image stabilization.
Battery and other features
On all three new smartphones unveiled today, Samsung has increased the battery capacity. On the A52 you go from 4000mAh to 4500mAh, while the larger model, thanks to the larger size, is able to accommodate a 5000 mAh charge unit. This is excellent news, which fully meets the needs of the average user in this range. The batteries are accompanied by the 25W recharge: it is not among the fastest on the market, but it offers fairly fast charging times. It should also be noted that in the packaging there are still chargers: these days it is not a detail to be taken for granted. “And then they are resistant to water and dust, a feature not so common in this price range”, observes Bagnoli.
A52, A52 5G and A72 share the same memory configuration, which provides 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space, with the possibility of reaching 1TB with Micro SD card. There are 2 SIM slots, NFC for digital payments, the fingerprint reader, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos technology and Android 11 operating system with One UI 3 custom interface. The three models integrate naturally into the Samsung ecosystem, with the guarantee of the best user experience with accessories such as Galaxy Buds, Samsung SmartTags and smart home products compatible with the Samsung SmartThings protocol. “There is the A Series, then the Fan Edition models, then the flagship world, and finally the top-of-the-range folding leaflets: but what matters is that Samsung already offers all the key technologies that users are looking for in one at reasonable prices. smartphone ”, adds Bagnoli.

Samsung Galaxy A52, A52 5G and A72 are available in Italy in three colors: Awesome Violet, Awesome Blue and Awesome White. Galaxy A52 is on sale at € 379.90, while it goes up to 449.90 for the 5G version. The Galaxy A72 is more expensive, with a suggested retail price of € 499.90. They are on sale from today; there will be those who will rush to buy them and those who will wait for prices to drop, as often happens. “We have extended the life of the products, and now prices are not falling as fast as they once did, observes Bagnoli. “One of Samsung’s strengths is the security of the devices.
