If you subscribe to Xbox Live Gold, you’re also entitled to the Games with Gold plan, which unfortunately hasn’t been great for a few years, with the exception of a few months.
Perhaps we are now seeing a sign that Microsoft is preparing to remove Xbox Live Gold subscriptions entirely, as they have now notified all subscribers that Xbox 360 games will be removed from the service starting in October. However, the games you’ve claimed will not be affected, as these Xbox 360 games are yours forever.
“Starting October 1, 2022, monthly games offered through Games with Gold to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold members will no longer include Xbox 360 games.
We’ve reached the limit of our ability to include Xbox 360 games in the catalog; however, Game Gold will continue to include exciting Xbox One games and monthly exclusive deals.
This will not affect any Xbox 360 games you downloaded before October 2022. Until then, any Xbox 360 games you redeem through Game Gold will remain on your Xbox account, whether or not you continue your subscription.

It should be noted that Sony stopped adding games from the same generation of consoles (Playstation 3) three years ago. So while this is undoubtedly sad news, it’s still impressive that we’ve had Xbox 360 games for so long.
