The XXIV Monthly Continuous Medical Update Course 2024 in Allergy, Pediatrics, and Internal Medicine has been officially inaugurated at the University Hospital of Puebla (HUP). The purpose of the course is to inform and update students, specialists, and first contact doctors in the field. The director of HUP, María Virginia Ortega Alejandré, expressed gratitude for the continuous efforts in organizing these sessions for the past 24 years, ensuring that all doctors are up to date with the latest innovations in medicine.

The inaugural conference, “Insulin resistance, evaluation and management,” was presented by HUP internist José Sergio Papaqui Tapia. The course will feature ten conferences given every month, with the first focused on related specialties and the last on allergy and clinical immunology. Topics to be covered include “Early diagnosis and timely treatment of prostate pathology,” “Differential diagnosis of acute abdomen,” and “Influence of ultra-processed foods on allergic diseases,” among others.

The event was attended by Aída López García, head of the Allergy and Clinical Immunology Service and organizer of the course, as well as other key figures from HUP. The course coordinators include Fernando Navarro Tovar, deputy director of Teaching, Research, and Training in Health; Chrystopherson Gengyny Caballero López, Juan Jesús Ríos López, and Sergio Papaqui Tapia.
