Zeiss camera and super screens: vivo doubles on 5G

by admin

A top of the range and a mid-range model just to remind the large group of Chinese vendors pretending to the scepter of Huawei’s heir that they are there too. We are talking about vivo, a company that officially landed in Italy last October and is now ready to put two new smartphones on the table.

Zeiss optics for the new top of the range

The first, the X60 Pro 5G with Android 11 on board, has recently had its European baptism and will arrive on the shelves of the Peninsula in June with a list price set at 799 euros. Just scroll through the technical characteristics of this smartphone to identify its main strength, and that is the photographic sector created in close collaboration with Zeiss. On board the device we find specifically three rear cameras configured as follows: a 48 megapixel main sensor, a 13 MP wide-angle lens and a 13 MP lens. For selfies, on the other hand, the 32 MP front camera comes into play. Compared to the previous X51 5G model, as vivo spokespersons point out, the technical improvements concern the optimization of the “gimbal” system (the optical stabilizer, four-axis for photos and five-axis for video) and the software component, especially as regards the sharpness of the portraits, thanks to the “swirly bokeh” effect managed by the Biotar Portrait Style by Zeiss. To the caliber of (almost) professional camera also contribute a lens with a wide focal aperture f / 1.48 and a noise reduction algorithm, while for lovers of night shots there is a function (Extreme Night Vision 2.0) that allows with a just touch to capture even the details in low light situations. Finally, in terms of colors, the new top of the range of vivo also has a system (Ultra HD Pixel Shift) to apply the technology of professional Slr cameras to smartphone photography, acquiring more detailed RGB information and reducing the acquisition of fakes. colors.

Qualcomm chip and phablet format display

If the photographic sector is, as mentioned, the declared plus, the hardware equipment of the X60 Pro 5G is also very interesting. The presence of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 processor is in itself a guarantee of performance and energy efficiency and in this case it is coupled to a 6.56-inch Ultra Amoled display with particularly strong qualities (second vivo) in terms of fluidity. On the top of the screen, inside the front camera there is a small 3.96 mm hole (the so-called “punch-hole”) certified with Hdr10 + functionality. Two models are available, in Midnight Black and Shimmer Blue shades, which differ slightly from each other in weight (177 and 179 grams) and thickness (7.59 and 7.69 mm).

The Y series: super battery and three cameras

The Y72 5G model is intended for the mid-range of the market, also available in Italian stores starting from June starting at 329 euros. To support fifth generation mobile networks, this motorized smartphone with Funtouch OS operating system based on Android 11 adds the peculiarities that have accompanied the Y series so far, and therefore very high performance in terms of battery and camera use experience. On the other hand, the technical identity card is obviously of a lower level than that of the X60 Pro 5G. The chip is a MediaTek Dimensity 700, which combined with the 8 GByte of Ram memory still promises a decent processing speed with all applications. We said about the battery: on board this device we find a 5000 mAh unit that is paired with the proprietary 18W fast charging system. The photographic sector, also in this case, is composed of three rear cameras (the main sensor is of 64 MP with electronic image stabilization) to offer four shooting functions, from Ultra HD to 8 megapixel ultra-wide angle through bokeh and macro. The front camera is instead 16 megapixel and is drowned in the 6.58 inch Full HD + resolution screen.
