132 employees at Decathlon Willebroek lose their jobs (Willebroek)

by admin

At Decathlon in Willebroek, 132 of the 250 employees will lose their jobs by the end of the year. This was confirmed at the special works council on Tuesday.

The news already circulated on Monday, but will be confirmed at the special works council on Tuesday: more than half of the 250 employees at the Decathlon depot in Willebroek will lose their jobs.

The ACV trade union confirmed this to the editorial staff of De Gazet van Antwerpen. The unions tried to attend the works council, but had to leave the room by order of a bailiff. The employees did receive a link to a live stream on which they could follow the works council online. Union members say they were not given a link to the livestream and therefore had to learn the news from employees.

The unions were also not given the opportunity to ask questions. A second special works council will follow on Thursday, April 25.

The management will only respond in writing later in the day.
