ROMA – The third serious accident, this year, in Alternanza Scuola Lavoro. A 17-year-old student was badly burned yesterday at 3 pm due to a flashback in a workshop in Merano, in the province of Bolzano, where the boy was on a program for transversal skills (Pcto ). The seventeen-year-old was transported to the San Maurizio hospital in Bolzano, with burns in various parts of his body, and then transferred to a specialized center in Bavaria, in Murnau, where he is hospitalized in serious condition. A 36-year-old worker was injured with him.
According to the carabinieri who intervened in the workshop, the young man was using chemicals to carry out an industrial cleaning and the contact with an instrument powered by electricity would have ignited the flames. Among others, the Labor Inspectorate of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano has already been notified.
On 21 January an accident that occurred on the last day of the factory internship – it was the Burimec of Lauzacco in Pavia di Udine – killed a student of the Bearzi Salesian Institute, Lorenzo Parelli, 18, from Morsano di Castions di Strada. He had been hit by a beam during professional training provided by the program.
