20 years of CVA, Committee hands off: hope for a different future remains

The creation of the Compagnia was “an extraordinary moment for the real autonomy” of the Aosta Valley

AOSTA. The birth of the CVA “was truly an extraordinary moment for our real autonomy: together with the obtaining of the tax allocation of 90% of the revenue, the only ones in which the political class has concretized an incisive action in favor of the region”. This was stated in a note by the Committee Hands off the waters and the CVA on the occasion of the twenty years since the creation of the Compagnia Valdostana delle Acque.

«The potential advantage that the CVA could and can represent for the well-being of future generations, unfortunately late, to materialize in a real energy transition, still to come – adds the Committee -. The waste of money has in fact connoted – much more than the positive facts – political action, as it exploded sensationally in the story of the Chinese turbines and in the prolonged assault of the Rava on the Cva chest. Over 600 million wasted in prebends (and annuities) that could really allow us to achieve total decarbonization before 2030. But at least, after 20 years, the certainty remains of an energy company among the few places with consistent internal skills and still all in public hands; then there remains also the hope of a different future, possible with a totally renewed political class: this however – concludes the note – does not depend on climate change but on that of the people of Valle d’Aosta ».
