The entrepreneur and patron of Imoco took the lead halfway through with 37 percent of the preferences, a margin of about four points over the former mayor, Forza Italia. Di Gaspero remains out with 25
CONEGLIANO. It will be a ballot. The official status and counting of the last sections are missing, but the situation that has emerged in Congliano seems clear: Piero Garbellotto in the lead with about 37 percent of the preferences, Fabio Chies detached at 33. Out of the game the center-left led by Francesca Di Gaspero who collects, always in partial data, about a quarter of the preferences.
The most striking situation of the Marca in this round occurs in Conegliano, the second city in the province in terms of number of inhabitants, a primary industrial and tertiary center, as well as a cultural center. This is where we are facing a game almost entirely within the center-right, with the outgoing mayor of Forza Italia, Fabio Chies, at the helm of a team without the Lega and FdI, who preferred Piero Garbellotto to him.
Behind them there was a whole work of militants and sympathizers who day after day passed from one side to the other, transferring sympathies and preferences through communicating vessels that are always open in the two opposing camps. In the end, the advantage accumulated by Garbellotto, as expected, is not enough for a victory in the first round. And now everything is back in the ballot, in two weeks.
Zaia and Garbellotto
It is no coincidence that it is here – where the game is more risky – that the president of the Region, Luca Zaia, has come at least four times to make his weight felt in favor of his candidate. In this “anomalous climate” the center-left managed to present itself united, gathering about 25 per cent of the consensus, while in the ideological and cultural dissolution taking place a list that praises Nuremberg (under three per cent) has also sprung up.
