57 million plan over three years for mountain lifts: summer tourism, Lussari and Varmòst, all projects

The Lussari-Valbruna and Sella-Montasio connections have been financed. Ok to the works on the Varmòst (Forni) and the renovation of Sappada

UDINE. The overall allowance is substantial and equal to over 57 million that the Region will make available in three years for the Friulian mountains. Money that will be used to finance a substantial package of interventions on the ski resorts of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

Works, among other things, that embrace a truly vast range of options – from ski slopes to new ski lifts up to the development of the summer mountains – and which, assures the councilor for productive activities and tourism Sergio Bini “in the majority of the cases will be completed by mid-2023 ”. The total allocation is the result of 35 million included in the 2021 Budget law and, at the same time, of more than 22 million made available through the “Mountain 365” project which, as the name suggests, is designed to try to guarantee a use of the main centers of Friuli Venezia Giulia all year round and not only during the classic winter period.

The interventions financed are different even if, probably, two stand out above all because, once completed, they will allow the respective poles to open new fronts of attractiveness. We are talking, in detail, about the new ski lift that will take you to Lussari from Valbruna and which – after a feasibility study, authorizations and strategic evaluation of the intervention – will be built with a regional contribution of 10 million euros.

The same argument, therefore, can also be made for the interventions in Forni di Sopra, on the Varmòst, which provide – for a fee of 5 million 970 thousand euros – the construction of a new plant, two ski slopes and one ski road, that is, a connecting path. All this, among other things, without forgetting the 15 million that will be allocated to Sappada, always waiting for the age-old question of the passage of the plants to regional hands to be finally defined. “We await the judge’s ruling – says Bini – which we hope will arrive as soon as possible”.

Furthermore, with respect to the “Mountain 365” plan, the council has decided to change both the addresses, based on the strengthening of the infrastructures, and the priorities, which have been redefined as follows: investments for the summer use of the mountains, construction of new ski slopes and upgrading of existing ones, snowmaking, upgrading and new water collection and distribution works. “These interventions – concluded Bini – aim to strengthen the tourist offer on the strategic vision defined by the plan on the subject, which wanted to guarantee specialization at all poles with the aim of increasing their competitiveness increasingly with a view to the use of the mountains. throughout the year “.
