There is not much left in the summer vacation, and all kinds of schools are making every effort to prepare for the start of school. Not only must the teaching progress in the fall semester be guaranteed, but also the health and safety of teachers and students. Regarding the school’s epidemic prevention work, what issues do parents care about?

Recently, a survey of 1538 parents of students conducted by the Social Survey Center of China Youth Daily in conjunction with the Questionnaire Network (wenjuan.com) showed that 97.1% of the parents interviewed are concerned about whether the school’s epidemic prevention measures are in place. Regarding the school’s protection against epidemics at the beginning of school, 69.9% of the parents surveyed suggested strict control of the entry and exit of people outside the school, and 67.7% of the parents surveyed believed that daily health examinations should be strictly implemented.

Among the interviewed parents, 36.4% of children are in elementary school, 25.2% are in junior high school, 17.2% are in high school, and 21.2% are in university.

This fall school starts, 58.1% of the parents interviewed said they were more confident

In the survey, 97.1% of the interviewed parents were concerned about whether the school’s protective measures were in place, and 52.3% of the interviewed parents were very concerned.

Cheng Shan, a parent of a primary school in Haidian District, Beijing, has his child in the third grade. Recently, the first thing she wakes up every day is to take the child’s temperature and fill out the form on the class WeChat group solitaire. On August 16, the head teacher issued a notice: “According to the requirements of Beijing’s epidemic prevention and control and the requirements of Beijing’s fall start and return to school, all students and family members must conduct health monitoring 14 days before the start of school.”

Seeing this notice, all parents immediately began to fill out the Solitaire form. Individual parents forgot to fill in, the teacher will be named in the group, and will call to remind. “Parents who were named are very embarrassed and feel that it has affected the progress of the entire class. In order to successfully complete the pre-school preparations, everyone regards health monitoring as the most important thing.”

The child of Li Yun (pseudonym), an employee of a public institution in Beijing, is about to enter junior high school. Starting from July 15th, the teacher will send out solitaires in the class group every day, asking everyone to report the child’s body temperature that day, and whether he or his family members are away from Beijing.

She felt that the head teacher was very hard. From mid-July until now, the group will be sent at 7 o’clock in the morning every day. At noon, if any parent does not solve the problem, the parent will be reminded separately, “It feels like the teacher is focusing on the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic. , Has been preparing. The epidemic prevention work is related to the safety of children returning to school, and parents also understand and cooperate with teachers very much.”

For students returning to school, 75.6% of the parents interviewed are concerned about whether the school’s supervision and management measures are in place, and 73.6% of the parents interviewed are concerned about the disinfection and epidemic prevention measures in public places such as canteens.

Li Yun felt that the school’s protective measures were still in place. The child will be on the first day of middle school in September. Some time ago, he received the first shot of vaccination. The work of vaccination was organized by the school. She feels that the school is very strict in protection. For example, if you have been out of Beijing a few days before the vaccination, including your family members who have been out of Beijing, you must provide a certificate that Beijing has a negative nucleic acid test within 48 hours. She also noticed that when waiting for the vaccine, everyone was far apart. “You can see that the school really put a lot of effort into minimizing the risk.”

Yu Long, a counselor at a college in Tianjin, said that when school starts this fall, his college has made comprehensive arrangements for epidemic prevention. The first is to accurately notify each student of the requirements for returning to school through the counselor and class teacher. Secondly, students return to school according to the application system. The students fill in the application for the return to school, upload the nucleic acid test report and health code and other information within 48 hours, which will be approved by the counselor and the college leadership. When students enter the school, there will be a working group composed of counselors to conduct multiple inspections such as temperature measurement, sterilization, and inspection.

66.0% of the parents interviewed are concerned about whether students can consciously protect themselves, 62.4% of the interviewed parents are concerned about the availability of professionally trained anti-epidemic personnel, 50.2% of the interviewed parents feel that it is more important to ensure that anti-epidemic materials are in place, and 41.9% of the parents are concerned. Interviewing parents are concerned about whether to establish an effective emergency plan.

Compared with the start of school in the fall of 2020, Yu Long feels a little more secure. He recalled that the school started last year, the situation was more severe than it is now, and the students felt a little overwhelmed. “Now everyone’s attention has generally increased, and our work has been better carried out.”

Counselor Liang Jingjing also feels that she is less flustered, has more experience, and has done a lot of work smoother and more familiar. But she also obviously feels that the start of school this fall is stricter than before. For example, the school will uniformly sort out the list of non-returnable schools for each college, make corresponding work arrangements, and work more carefully.

Compared with last year, 58.1% of the parents surveyed said that the beginning of the fall school has a more bottom line. Only 19.7% of the parents interviewed would be even more worried. 22.2% of the interviewed parents said there was no change.

69.9% of the parents interviewed suggested to strictly control the entry and exit of people outside the school

Regarding the school’s protection against epidemics at the beginning of the fall, 69.9% of the parents surveyed suggested strict control of the entry and exit of people outside the school, 67.7% of the parents surveyed believed that daily health testing should be strictly implemented, and 67.6% of the parents surveyed hoped to strictly control the food safety in the cafeteria. .

Wang Junjun, the parents of first-grade students in Beijing, feels that the child is still very young, and it may be unrealistic to rely on him to protect himself. It needs the supervision and management of the school and the teacher. “For children, the most necessary thing is probably the explicit request of the teacher.” From the school system level, it is very important to establish an emergency plan. In addition to schools, there are also off-campus institutions. Whether the epidemic prevention protection is complete or not is something that needs attention.

For returning to school in the fall, Li Yun is most concerned about whether students can consciously protect themselves. At the beginning, the child was very careful, “But I feel that people’s mentality is a bit like a rubber band. If you stretch it for a long time, you will get a little tired, and the protection will not be particularly in place.” She hopes that the school’s supervision and management measures are better than at home. More stringent.

Yu Long is concerned about whether students can achieve strict self-protection on their way back to school. Because the epidemic prevention system in the school is relatively complete. But on the way back to school, it is difficult for you to ensure that every student can do strict self-protection, which increases some hidden dangers.

In the survey, 61.0% of the interviewed parents suggested to maintain reasonable desk spacing and pay attention to indoor ventilation, 53.8% of the interviewed parents believed that strict measures such as closed management should be adopted, and 52.0% of the interviewed parents suggested that there should be no dead ends professional elimination every day .

Yu Long feels that under normalized epidemic prevention, what students need most is psychological comfort. The emotional impact and all kinds of inconveniences will greatly increase students’ anxiety about the beginning of school. While we pay attention to whether students’ epidemic prevention measures are in place, we also need to always care about students’ mental health.

In Li Yun’s view, the most important thing for children to know is how to maintain a good attitude. While doing a good job in the prevention and control of the epidemic, study and life should be carried out normally. The most important thing for the protection of epidemic prevention in the fall of school is to strictly implement some existing measures. “After all, this is the valuable experience we have gained through countless battles. As long as these are done well, there will be no What a big problem”.

In the survey, 45.6% of the interviewed parents believe that the school should establish an effective emergency plan, and 35.7% of the interviewed parents expect to have a professionally trained school doctor.
