ERTO AND CASSO. An enthusiastic smile, made indelible by a shot published on social media. Then the drama. Annamaria Nerosi, 50, originally from Venice, had chosen to live in Erto and was a passionate mountaineer: when she managed to reach a summit she burst out with enthusiasm, so much so that she wanted to immortalize it in a selfie, perhaps together with climbing companions.

It also happened on the afternoon of Wednesday 23 June, at the top of the Sfornioi, in Val di Zoldo (Belluno). She pulled out her cell phone and took a picture of herself with friends Roberto Furlanetto and Ilario Camatta. It was not yet 14 when the owner of the bed & breakfast “La voce del tempo” slipped, falling 150 meters and losing her life. A serious polytrauma that left no way out for the entrepreneur who arrived from the Riviera del Brenta. As frightened as they were saddened, the two men could not do anything for her, apart from calling 118, clinging to the subtle hope that Annamaria could only have fainted and that for this reason she would not respond to their appeals.

The three had left in the morning. An excursion told on social networks up to a few minutes before the tragedy, with increasingly spectacular photographs of the Zoldo Dolomites. Below the post, the first comments from friends are enthusiastic. Then they give way to tears and pain.

The call to 118 came immediately after the crash from the ridge. Nerosi lost his balance and fell into a flight that seemed endless. The 118 helicopter took off from Pieve di Cadore. Thanks to the coordinates, the hikers’ location was quickly identified. It was enough to go down vertically to see the body of Annamaria Nerosi, about 150 meters further downstream. Rescuers were disembarked with a 60-meter winch and set up an anchor. It was necessary to abseil for another thirty meters to reach the woman, together with the coroner, who could only ascertain her death. With the authorization of the magistrate on duty, the body was reassembled and embarked, before being recovered with the same winch and, later, transported to the valley, where the hearse was waiting. Also in the afternoon, the ex-husband reached Val di Zoldo for the recognition of the body. External inspection should be sufficient, before the go-ahead to fix the date of the funeral.
