The 135th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, is set to kick off in Guangzhou from April 15 to May 5. This year’s fair promises to be more innovative and dynamic than ever before, with all preparatory work progressing smoothly.

Among the exhibitors lined up for this year’s event are over 3,000 high-quality and characteristic companies, including “little giant” enterprises, national high-tech firms, and individual champions in the manufacturing industry. This represents a 20% increase from the previous session. The fair is also set to be more digital and intelligent, with nearly 3,600 exhibitors related to digital technology and intelligent manufacturing. As of April 12, 137,000 overseas buyers from 215 countries and regions have already pre-registered for the event.

In a first for the Canton Fair, a buyer certification point has been set up at the Pazhou Hong Kong and Macao Passenger Transport Port in Guangzhou. This move aims to make it more convenient for merchants to participate in the exhibition, with a range of innovative and upgraded port service measures in place.

The first overseas purchaser certificate application point is located in the arrival hall on the third floor of the port building, where purchasers holding foreign passports, Hong Kong and Macao return certificates, or original Taiwan compatriot certificates can apply for purchaser certificates free of charge.

Furthermore, the pre-sale of tickets for the Pazhou Hong Kong and Macao Passenger Port indicates that the total passenger volume during the fair will exceed 10,000 people, with a significant increase in the number of inbound foreigners compared to previous years. The maritime department has implemented a “green channel” for passenger ships entering and leaving the port, reducing voyage times by around half an hour. Dedicated lanes have also been set up for exhibitors and merchants during peak periods, with a visa on arrival counter established to handle port visas for foreign business personnel.
