At about 14:00 on January 17, the Zhuhai Municipal People’s Government held the fourth press conference on epidemic prevention and control to report the latest situation of epidemic prevention and control in the city. All media reporters from the Yangcheng Evening News learned from the meeting that,As of 24:00 on January 16, Zhuhai had a total of 12 confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia and 1 asymptomatic infection.All are being treated in isolation in designated hospitals. The newly confirmed cases were detected among the close contacts under centralized management, and the main activity range was Nanping Town, Xiangzhou District.

Epidemiological traceability found that all cases are currently in the same transmission chain. Gene sequencing is 100% homologous to imported cases from other provinces.The case of early onset was engaged in customer service work of a certain enterprise, and often came into contact with imported goods.According to the current on-site epidemiological investigation and laboratory testing, experts have concluded that the outbreak cannot be ruled out due to exposure to contaminated imported items. Further traceability of the flow regulation is still in progress.
