SEVENTH VICTON. Bad weather has returned to wreak havoc. The umpteenth violent storm this summer hit the Settimo Vittone area on Saturday afternoon, between 3 and 4 pm. No hail this time, but a storm of water that caused damage in particular in the capital: “A real water bomb undermined the sewer pipe which literally exploded disconnecting the entire stretch of via Castello from the road Provincial 72 that goes up from state road 26, up to via Stampa – says the mayor, Sabrina Noro -. The power of the water blew up the manhole covers and ripped up the porphyry cubes ».

Via Castello from Saturday afternoon is no longer accessible by car or on foot. Residents of two buildings and two other houses cannot leave their properties with their cars. “We will first have to secure the road that has failed in several places,” says Sabrina Noro. The mud leaking from the pipes has invaded the provincial road but without consequences on the roads. The Revalesio stream swelled on the border with the Municipality of Nomaglio and escaped in some points but immediately returned once the precipitation ended. The estimate of the damages and the necessary urgent interventions will be defined during a technical meeting today, Monday, in the Municipality, withnamed by the mayor. «200 meters of sewerage all uphill and the intervention will be onerous», Noro underlines. On Saturday the Municipality and the staff of Smat and the Metropolitan City intervened. ORdays together with the municipal council will take stock of what to do. Amelio Ambrosi
