While continuing repatriation. Raab, distressing airport scenes
(ANSA) – LONDON, AUGUST 17 – There are 3,300 Afghan citizens evacuated in the last hours by the British military as part of the airlift underway from Kabul after the overwhelming advance of the Taliban in the capital and in the country. Foreign Minister Dominic Raab told BBC Radio 4, stating that the operation goes on and that the repatriation of British citizens still present in Afghanistan continues, with another 150 people returning only on Sunday. Raab called the dramatic scenes of the flight at the airport “distressing”, but added that this morning “the situation appears more stable” after the arrival of “other British and American soldiers”.
