by admin

The sexual assault scandal of Alibaba Group Holding Limited (9988.HK, BABA, abbreviation: Alibaba) has triggered a heated discussion about workplace culture on the Internet. This incident is prompting some other Chinese companies to face up or formulate their own ’S anti-sexual harassment policy.

After the aforementioned allegations of sexual assault on Alibaba came to light in early August, Shanghai’s online travel service platform operator Trip.com Group Limited (9691.HK, TCOM) stated that the company passed the code of conduct against sexual harassment. According to an internal email seen by The Wall Street Journal, the video streaming company iQiyi Inc. (IQ) updated its code of conduct to clearly oppose sexual harassment. In addition, according to Chinese media reports, similar anti-sexual harassment measures have been added to the employee handbook of Sina Co. (SINA), the parent company of Weibo Co. (WB).

Sina and iQiyi did not respond to requests for comment.
