The first doses are shared. We will have to wait a few more days to fully assess the impact of the green pass obligation for all workers since October 15, a decision taken by the government to push those who have hesitated so far to immunize themselves against Covid. But after the first week it is possible to make a provisional balance, numbers in hand. The decree that introduced the green pass obligation for the whole world of public and private work was approved by the Council of Ministers on 16 September (even if the publication in the Official Journal is on 21 September). In the first week, from 17 al September 23, based on data from Lab 24, the newly administered doses (including single-dose J&J and single doses of those who previously contracted the infection) were 568mila compared to 478mila of the previous week (68mil on average per day), with an increase of 19%.
Over 80 thousand first doses per day on average
The gear change is therefore there, with a weekly average of over 80mila doses, although we have not yet returned to the levels of the week between 3 and the September 9, when we were traveling around at altitude 94mil. Not to mention the 120mila of the week between late August and early September.

Greater increase for those over 50
The greatest increases, not by chance, are recorded in the age groups where the population of working age is concentrated. With a peak among the fifties where the increase in the first doses was of 51,9%. A result all the more important if we consider that the 16% who is in this range (let’s talk about 1,546 million of people with a significant risk of hospitalization) is still without even a dose of vaccine. The novelty introduced by the government has prompted many 50-year-olds to join the vaccination campaign: after the peak of 10 June (seven-day daily moving average of almost 188mila injections), the pace had dropped to the summer low (just over 22mil in the last week of August). The obligation of a green pass to access workplaces has made the vaccination curve move again. The fully vaccinated between 50 and 59 years80%.
The trend in the intermediate categories
With the reduction of age the surge also diminishes. In the range 40-49 years the increase of the new dosì is of 44,3%. In that 30-39 years we are at 33,5%. To get off at + 26,7% in the range 20-29. Content to 17,8% the increase of the first doses instead among the sixty-year-olds. The latter group is characterized by a good percentage of immunized (85,7%) but where, despite the high risk of hospitalization, they are recorded beyond 800mila people still without dose.
Vaccinations of adolescents and over 70s are in sharp decline
On the other hand, no restart of the new doses in the wings of the demographic curve, which instead recorded a sharp slowdown. After the rush to get vaccinated before school starts, the band 12-19 (57% of adolescents with full cycle) marks a setback. The first doses are in fact down by 28,5%. Very negative trend also for the over 80s (-69%) which, however, record a very high percentage of vaccinated (92.6% with full cycle). As well as in the 70-79 range (-34,9%) also characterized by a high percentage of immunized (90%).
