There are news for the football and athletics stadium. The municipal councilor for sport of Agordo, Cristina Bien, announced them during the municipal council on Thursday evening.
The badge
In the latest budget change, the council has allocated 2 thousand euros to set up the system that will allow reading the badge, that is a card which must be provided by those who want to use the sports facility for personal training. «The stadium and the athletics track – explained Councilor Bien – are used a lot and are used throughout the day. I saw people running at night too. All this makes us very happy because seeing that a municipal sports infrastructure is used gives satisfaction, however it is necessary to take into account the issue of safety ».
With free access to the facility, in fact, it is difficult to verify who enters and above all to notice any injuries that can happen to athletes. “The problem is simple” said Bien “if one were to get hurt or feel bad, perhaps without a medical examination of sports fitness, the subsequent checks of the case will involve the president of the company he manages (Us Agordina, ed). To avoid unpleasant inconveniences, we have decided to equip the plant with a regulated access system. Those who want to enter the stadium to train will be able to continue to do so in freedom, but they will have to have a card that will be issued by the club they belong to when they enroll in it by delivering the certificate of fitness to practice sport “.

Also during the council, Bien explained that another 65 thousand euros will be invested to complete the work at Ivano Dorigo started last year. «This is 45 thousand euros for works» he specified «and another 20 thousand for available sums. We will build a second accessory room for the needs of sports clubs next to the 60 square meter underground one already built. This too will have the same surface: at the moment we will only make the skeleton, then, a little at a time, we will go to complete it. With the amount allocated, we will also finish the work done over the last year, primarily the construction of the drains ».
The coverage of the stands
Another novelty announced by Bien is the drafting of the project, by the engineer De Lotto of the MTD studio, for the coverage of the stadium grandstand. «An idea», explains Bien, «born from the confrontation with Atletica Agordina and with the federation. According to those who frequent it, Agordo is one of the best facilities in the province. However, if you want to host national athletics events, you need a covered grandstand. The one envisaged by the project, which amounts to 300 thousand euros, is made of steel and, in addition to allowing these events to take place, would protect the grandstand from water infiltrations ».
«Now we need to find the money to carry out the intervention. With a feasibility study in hand “, Councilor Bien concludes,” we can go in search of funding under various calls to improve an infrastructure that has a district value: here athletes who come and train not only from Agordo, but also from from the whole valley, from the Conca, from Val Biois and also from Alto Cordevole ».
