AGORDO. The Guardia di Finanza of Agordo seized 36 thousand kilos of wood pellets marked as ENplus®, but which were not such. More specifically, the men of the Agordian Fiamme Gialle have identified a company operating in the area of ​​the marketing of fuel products where various product categories of the species were stored for sale, including pellets packaged in plasticized bags weighing 15 kg each. . From the detailed investigations it emerged that the packaged product graphically reported technical characteristics and information indications differing from those accredited by the ENplus® certification scheme, a brand licensed for Italy by the Italian Agroforestry Energy Association in the specific product category, thus proving not only suitable for mislead the final consumer with respect to the quality of the goods but also potentially harmful and dangerous to health.

The Financiers thus subjected the entire load to seizure, equal to over 2,400 packages that were already ready for retail sale, reporting the legal representative of the company to the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Belluno for the crime of fraud in the exercise of the trade, while the investigations aimed at the reconstruction of the commercial supply chain of the seized product and the potential identification of other companies suspected of operating with similar fraudulent methods are still underway.
