Already collected 10 tons of food in 2021 from the Quotidiamo emporium

The solidarity emporium of Aosta distributes food to families in economic difficulty and to associations

Five years ago the Quotidiamo emporium opened in Aosta, a solidarity project to guarantee a meal even for families and economically weaker people. The store continued to work even in the midst of the pandemic, a period in which economic difficulties worsened, and continues its activity in recent months with good results.

The budget for the first half of 2021 is ten tons of food collected. The merit goes to private donations, solidarity cabinets and donations from supermarkets and other realities in the area. Some hygiene products have also found a place on the shelves of the store, also in this case thanks to the generosity of those who have ensured their support through donations to current accounts.

Riccardo Jacquemod, president of the La Sorgente cooperative that manages Quotidiamo, explains: «In collaboration with the Community Foundation, Banco Alimentare and the Social Service of the Valle d’Aosta Region, we delivered 1691 boxes of fruit and vegetables, accompanied by food packages. As for the cards, on the other hand, we had 99 families to carry out expenses (each nucleus has the card for six months, some already active in January 2021), for a total of 289 people. In addition, we have helped about 10 associations, giving free products and groceries, including bread, fruit and vegetables, pasta and baby products ».

To support the activity of the solidarity store in Aosta, it is possible to make a transfer or donate food and basic necessities. The most popular products are flour, sugar, oil, tuna, tomatoes, salt, biscuits, breakfast foods, milk and legumes.
