(ANSA) – TRAPANI, MAY 30 – Three thousand kilometers traveled by bike along Italy, moving among the traffic bans imposed by Covid-19, choosing routes that are not exactly common. Giuseppe Bica, 34, from Trapani, won the challenge with himself, a work experience in the field of marketing, lent to cycling as a hobby. The young man, in exactly one month, traveled the whole of Italy, starting from Trapani, his hometown, and arriving as far as Lugano, in the Ticino canton of Switzerland. ‘All the boot’ in fact and in name, since the adventure, studied in detail, wanted to call it just that.

On his gravel bike (a mix of racing bike and mountain bike), Giuseppe Bica rode on well-known roads and rural paths of Italy, with sun and rain, without ever stopping, to promote the culture of mobility. sustainable and raise public awareness towards moving ‘in a green way’.

“I crossed and explored big cities like Naples, Rome and Milan but it is certainly in the small villages that I appreciated the beauty, sweeping away the tiredness”, says Giuseppe. He climbed to 1,490 meters on the Sila touching Lorica up to Gaiole in Chianti to meet his friend Gionni, passing in front of the Colosseum in Rome and the Duomo in Milan. Twelve regions he crossed in the saddle: “I contemplated breathtaking views along the lake, I skirted small streams or more important rivers, and then again waterfalls, caves and bridges.

In this adventure I understood how beautiful our Italy is with the faces of the people, the uniqueness of the experiences, the gastronomic riches “, he explains.

The peculiarity of ‘Tutto lo Stivale’ was, above all, that of bringing the family together. Because it was his father, mother and brother who accompanied Giuseppe Bica in the camper. “They anticipated me by reaching the next stage first – says Giuseppe – so in the evening we were together and then the next day back in the saddle to go up the boot, up to Switzerland”.
