Until 1 April, applications are open for the second edition of the Ispa prize, an Italian photographic competition dedicated to sustainable development, both from an environmental and social point of view. You can participate with a single photo, with a story or with a project to be carried out through a grant.
Last year the single photo category was won by Vittoria Lorenzetti with an image in which she portrayed the Punta Helbronner station of the Skyway cable car, at 3,466 meters, on Mont Blanc. The Skyway project was born in 2011 with the commitment to respect the surrounding environment and preserve its heritage. It was designed to minimize energy and water consumption, as well as the production of waste, with the aim of making it a zero-impact building.
For the story category, Enrico Genovesi and Gianmarco Maraviglia had won. Genoese with a report on the community of Nomadelfia, near Grosseto. Founded in 1948 by Don Zeno Saltini, at the time its purpose was to welcome children who were orphaned or abandoned in the period of the two wars. Genovesi told how the life of this community has been transformed today, which is active in the field of hospitality.
The report by Maraviglia, on the other hand, was dedicated to the Fico park (Italian peasant factory) in Bologna, founded by Oscar Farinetti, which aims to raise awareness of Italian excellence in the food and wine sector in a structure built in a sustainable way.
Finally, the grant was awarded to Niccolò Panzeri, who created the series Feed us, on innovations in the food industry. With this work Panzeri wanted to investigate the progress and achievements in the production field (such as energy efficiency and the circular economy) and in the technical-scientific one, such as precision agriculture, artificial intelligence, and models of automation.
