“An engine exploded in flight”, moments of fear on the plane with policemen and migrants forced to make an emergency landing

Moments of fear, last night, on the Catania-Rome flight of the Bulgarian Air Charter company, with 42 passengers on board, including 34 policemen and eight migrants. A few minutes after take-off, with destination Rome Fiumicino, the plane came back due to an engine failure. Several fire brigade teams intervened.

The aircraft, as beraking latest news learns, has been inspected after landing and is now in the airport parking lot. The policemen were on a mission to Rome to accompany the group of migrants who had recently landed on the Sicilian coast to the capital.

“An engine exploded in flight – Andrea Cecchini, national secretary of the police union ‘Italia Celere’ told beraking latest news – The aircraft landed at Catania airport from where it had taken off shortly before only thanks to the skill of the pilot” .

And then he adds: «The plane is 31 years old and, given the amount of flights we are exposed to every day, we ask that the men employed be enabled to work adequately, as well as the migrants to travel peacefully. Often the working conditions do not raise the dignity of the uniform we wear, like ensuring a hot meal after hours and hours of flight ».
