Local residents said that when the incident occurred, they heard a loud explosion and thought it was an earthquake. According to reports, 11 people have been injured in the accident and 3 people have lost contact.

“I heard a loud explosion in the morning, and I felt that the windows were shaking. I thought it was an earthquake.” A community resident told Elephant News that the explosion occurred in Building 3 of the community. The resident said that after he went out, he found that the No. 3 building in the community was severely damaged, the front was cracked, and the back building collapsed.
Mainland Jimu News reported that Mr. Zhang (surname changed), a resident of Building 4 of Huanyanli Community, said that at 7 am on the 19th, their family was awakened by a loud noise while they were sleeping. “When I woke up, the kitchen balcony windows were all shattered and the floor was covered in shards of glass.”
Afterwards, Mr. Zhang quickly ran downstairs with his family and saw an explosion in Building 3 next to it, and some of the walls had collapsed.
According to reports, as of 9 am on the 19th, there were still people trapped in the building where the explosion occurred, and the rescue was still in progress.
The staff of Jinran China Resources Gas Company said that at present, the nearby Huanyanli Community is in a state of gas shutdown and emergency repairs. “There is no notification of the time of natural gas recovery.”

The Beichen District Government of Tianjin City officially reported that at around 7:15 today, a gas explosion occurred in a resident’s home in Building 3, Huanyanli, Tianmu Town, Beichen District, causing damage to the building. At present, 8 people were injured at the scene, most of them were cut and rubbed, and none of them were life-threatening. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
At 9:37 a.m. on the 19th, the staff of the emergency department of Tianjin Beichen Hospital told upstream news that the hospital began to treat the injured in the explosion accident in the Huanyanli community. So far, 10 patients have been treated, all of them with minor injuries.
As of about 1 pm on the 19th, 11 people have been injured in the accident, and 3 people have lost contact.
At about 16:45 on June 21 this year, a gas explosion occurred near the intersection of Beicheng East Road and Wusu Road in Baodi District, Tianjin, resulting in 23 injuries, 3 of which were severely burned.
