An Italian summer (Photo) – International

by admin

Summer is a time of pause, of escape from work, from daily commitments, in which we can stay on vacation and reconnect with ourselves and with our loved ones. But the summer of 2021 is still marked by the covid-19 pandemic, with the debate on vaccines, the green pass, the spread of the delta variant, the reopening and the consequences in the lives of many workers who have already lost their jobs in cause of the release of layoffs. In recent months we have also clashed with the new reality of a climate that has already changed and that places us in front of some now inevitable reflections on how we will be able to live with it in the coming years and what we can do now to limit the damage.

The photographic project Arcipelago19 tried to ask itself what this strange summer is like and what it will be like, inviting several Italian authors to create a choral, continuous and participatory flow from June 21st. In fact, alongside the constant production of images, there is the initiative Postcards for an Italian summer, with which you can choose a photo of the project and turn it into a real postcard, to be sent and sent. Those who support the initiative will receive the postcards starting in September.
