Anita Pecile, 83, former president of the Italian Women’s Center

FAGAGNA. The disappearance of the teacher, gold medal for teaching and a pillar of charity in the regional and hillside coordination, Anita Pecile, left a great void in the Fagagnese community.

The 83-year-old woman died following a worsening of her health in this last period.

In her life she committed and spent for others always in a discreet way, holding very important positions in the social field, in the world of education and school.

An iron, severe, but at the same time sweet woman. At the age of 20 she married Marco Bortolot and went to live in Ferrara where she was the protagonist of the school experimentation of the seventies.

Engaged in the front line with the Italian Catholic Masters Association, this experience had brought her closer in the last 30 years of her life to the Italian Women’s Center of which she was regional president, founding several Cif groups and also in the hill community. Right arm of Monsignor Adriano Caneva was part of the Regional Center for Aid to Life.

Her commitment and responsibility have been extended to numerous religious and voluntary associations, she has followed the forum of family associations, and she has been Caritas coordinator for the whole hilly area.

The high moral value and his generosity were involved in the civil, cultural and social fields not only in the capital but also in Udine, where it was well known and appreciated, and in Trieste.

«She always said – remembers her son Marco Bortolot – that she had had so much from life and therefore gave everything to others. He guided and knew how to dialogue with the most difficult and needy people, without commanding them, valuing them in teaching.

Mom taught me to love everyone ». Anita Pecile has been busy until the end for the others. On Tuesday 18 May, at 4 pm, the funeral will be celebrated in the church of San Giacomo.

“It is his Easter – concludes the son – and the priest will wear white cassocks and not purple to symbolize his light”. The recitation of the rosary will take place half an hour before. –
