The local historian of the arcades of Piazza Chanoux is closed from February 2020
Future managers of the Caffè Nazionale will be able to benefit from some concessions, including a discount on the monthly fee. This was decided by the municipal council of Aosta by approving the management guidelines of the restaurant in Piazza Chanoux closed since February last year.
By activating some facilitated conditions, the municipal administration hopes to make concrete the expressions of interest that arrived during the concession procedure started before the Covid-19 health emergency blocked everything. The future managers of the Caffè Nazionale will be able not to pay the first three months of the rent, of at least € 6,800, and to pay 10 percent for the following 33 months. The winners of the tender, however, will have to provide for the extraordinary maintenance of the property, including the decagonal Gothic hall that was part of the ancient medieval convent of San Francesco, and then consolidate the vaults, replace the flooring, paint and replace fixtures, windows and windows. The minimum estimated investment is € 450,000 (plus VAT) for a minimum contract of 15 and a maximum of 25 years.
