The 200 ‘blue’ stalls will be paid. In the next few days, the Aps will install the parking meters

The day of the opening of the new parking lots built in the area of the former Testafochi barracks in Aosta is approaching. The municipal council has approved the draft contract with which the Region has granted free use of the areas it owns between the Monte Vodice, Monte Pasubio and Monte Solarolo streets.

With the same deed, the Nuti Council also entrusted the management of the parking lots to the APS which “will arrange the installation of parking meters and the laying of vertical signs in the next few days”, as the municipal administration explains.

With the opening of the two areas, Aosta will have 200 more stalls on the street, all for a fee. The only exceptions are the eight places reserved for loading / unloading and the seven places reserved for people with disabilities. The hourly rate per parking meter is 1.40 euros with a minimum payment of 70 cents (30 minutes therefore). Parking will be paid from Monday to Saturday in the hours 8-12 and 14-18.

The opening of the car parks will give “an answer to the search for parking in the area by citizens and residents (who will be guaranteed the facilities normally provided) which had become even more urgent due to the elimination of the 50 parking bays in line along the east side of via Monte Solarolo due to the construction site of the new university campus – highlights the Municipality of Aosta -. These stalls are now also formally abolished both for the continuation of the works and because the opening of the new parking areas will amply satisfy the demand for parking in the area ».
