The 15 million euro project is 84th in the national ranking of programs for the quality of living
The 15 million euro redevelopment project of the Cogne district of Aosta takes an important step forward. The Municipality has in fact obtained the state funding necessary for the works in the popular district of the capital.
The Aosta project was ranked 84th among the 271 supported with the resources of the National Program for the quality of living and the complementary fund of the NRP. The High Evaluation Commission took into account the social, cultural, urban, environmental and also economic-financial impact of the proposal.
On Wednesday the Municipality of Aosta received the official communication of the admission to the financing. Now, the municipal administration explains, phase 2 opens. Within 240 days, the projects to be tendered must be sent to the High Commission, which will have 90 days to evaluate them.
“We are understandably very satisfied because the measure confirms the goodness of the design proposal we have thought of for the Cogne district,” says the mayor Gianni Nuti. “It will not be a mere building or urban recovery, but a 360-degree rethinking of the urban space and the collective soul that gives it life, including the enhancement of the historical roots of the worker matrix that had withered, and that by virtue of the protocol signed with the company Cas we intend to bring to light as a founding element of a new shared identity within the neighborhood ».
The redevelopment project is the result of a collaboration between the Municipality, the Department of Architecture and Design of the Turin Polytechnic and a professional from the Aosta Atelier Project. Numerous interventions are planned, such as the recovery of 360 parking spaces from the garage accessible from via Liconi, the refurbishment of place Sodats de la Neige, the interventions on via Colonello Alessi, cycle and pedestrian paths and green spaces instead of parking lots.
