As part of the journalist’s day, the work ‘Mary’ was launched

In an event full of surprises and emotion, the book Mary, a biographical novel that the journalist, Yanitza Fontalvo, published about the writer and journalist Mary Daza Orozco, was presented.

The event was held in the Departmental Library with the presence of civil and religious authorities, where there was also a heartfelt tribute to Mary Daza Orozco, recognized as one of the most important Latin American writers; to whom she was given style notes by the Government of Cesar, the Mayor’s Office of Valledupar and the Círculo de Periodistas de Valledupar.
The prologue of the book was given by the architect Jaime José Orozco and the presentation of the book was carried out by former congressman Alvaro Araujo Castro who gave a masterful dissertation covering the most important moments of Mary Daza described in the book.
«Mary is a very great asset that we have in our region, she has written 18 books about a reality that has always surrounded us, violence, with an extraordinary rhetorical capacity and poetry. “Her books have been appreciated at Boston University and several countries,” said author Yanitza Fontalvo.
Mary Daza, who was accompanied by her children the entire time, deeply appreciated these recognitions and described this book as a tribute that will be eternal.

The event was organized by the Valledupar Journalists’ Circle with the support of the Chamber of Commerce and the Government of Cesar.
