AstraZeneca, psychosis in Caltanissetta: at the hub 1,500 vaccines per day administered only 194 doses

In the last two days, a worrying percentage of cancellations and cancellations of reservations: 400 only yesterday

CALTANISSETTA – Yesterday in Caltanissetta out of 600 people who had booked the AstraZeneca vaccine only 194 decided to do so. Among the 600 booked there are those who did not show up and those who, on the other hand, once arrived at the hub center, refused to do so. A worrying figure according to the general manager of the Nissen Asp Alessandro Caltagirone.

«In Caltanissetta a hub center has recently been inaugurated, also in terms of health personnel dedicated to this, to carry out 1,500 doses of vaccine per day. Unfortunately – says the manager Caltagirone – in the last two days we have recorded a worrying percentage of cancellations and cancellations of reservations. On the other hand, a significant portion of the population would like to be vaccinated, but cannot because, unfortunately, it does not fall within the categories identified as priorities by the Ministry. And this, with a view to pursuing the objective of ‘mass vaccination, creates no little bitterness ”.

«I understand the perplexities and fears of the population in the face of the events recorded in recent days – continues the general manager – and I express my closeness to the families who are experiencing this tragedy and who have the right to a swift and certain response. But to date, in the absence of an established existence of the causal link between the event and the administration of the vaccine dose, we must have faith in scientific research. We must strongly believe in the vaccination campaign. Only mass vaccination will allow us to get out of this nightmare and see the light again ”.
