Austria exits the lockdown after almost 7 months

Today restaurants, hotels, gyms and theaters have reopened

(ANSA) – BOLZANO, MAY 19 – After almost seven months of more or less rigid lockdown, Austria is restarting today. They have in fact reopened restaurants, hotels, gyms and sports fields, but also theaters and cinemas.

For almost all sectors, however, a negative test is needed which for do-it-yourself nasal swabs is valid for 24 hours, for antigenic ones for 48 hours and for PCRs for 72 hours. For those who have received the first dose of the vaccine, the ‘pass’ is activated on the 22nd day after administration for three months, while those who have completed the vaccine cycle have nine months of ‘freedom’.

The releases also affect those who have recovered from the coronavirus in the past six months. The first day of openings was wet with rain, which slowed the restart, especially of the gastronomy. A maximum of ten people can be met at one table, even from different families.

The negative swab is also mandatory upon check in at the hotel. In view of Pentecost next weekend (in Austria it is also a public holiday on Mondays) reservations are good. Finally, the closing time of 19 for supermarkets has also fallen, which can now also remain open in the evening. (HANDLE).
