In action, the Alpine river speleo group of the Fire Brigade
(ANSA) – CASTELLAMMARE DEL GOLFO, 25 OCT – Late yesterday evening, during a very strong storm, the Saf nucleus (alpine river cave) of the Trapani firefighters and the Alcamo team rescued 4 men who were suddenly trapped by the swelling of the river heat that crosses the Segesta Baths on the side of the Municipality of Castellammare del Golfo (Trapani).
After 2 hours – the rescuers worked in prohibitive conditions – the unfortunates, 2 men of German nationality, one Ecuadorian and the fourth Italian, were rescued a few minutes before being overwhelmed by the fury of the water, by the firefighters who they used specialized SAF descent and ascent techniques.
Once rescued, in a state of hypothermia, the four men were entrusted to the medical care of 118, who intervened with two ambulances. (HANDLE).
